Our Mission
Demetrix was born from a simple idea: we profoundly believe in the power of science to make the world a better place.
Some of history’s most significant medical breakthroughs come from taking nature’s rare ingredients, studying their use in human and animal health and wellness, and then making them widely available commercially. Demetrix uses biology to produce these rare natural compounds so that they can be used responsibly in consumer and pharmaceutical products that are backed by science.
Our initial focus is one of the most understudied and misunderstood compounds in the world today: cannabinoids.
Cannabinoids are the chemical compounds found inside cannabis and hemp plants. Many people are aware of two cannabinoids in particular—tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD).
Rare Cannabinoids
What many people do not realize is that there are more than 100 different unique cannabinoids found in the plant. It has been impossible to study these before as they are in such minuscule quantities in the plant. That’s where Demetrix comes in.
Our initial focus is on helping the scientific, consumer products, and pharmaceutical communities understand the impact that these incredibly rare compounds can have on the health and wellness of millions. We use biology to produce cannabinoids faster, more affordably, and at higher purity than agricultural methods. And we’re focused on the rare cannabinoids that have never been available for study before. This is exciting science.
We also work closely with regulatory bodies like the FDA and DEA to ensure we’re delivering safe and legal products that conform to the latest standards. This is uncharted territory, and we’re focused on helping lead the industry responsibly.
It can be hard to separate fact from fiction when it comes to cannabinoid’s efficacy and impact. We’re bringing scientific rigor to the study of cannabinoids to understand how they can be used to make the world a better place.
